I was homeless in Virginia with no college education and no job, so I decided to move to Pensacola, FL and see where it would take me. Once I got here, my dad told me about CareerSouce Escarosa. I went to the Pensacola office and LeRoy Knight helped me register with Employ Florida Marketplace and within one month, not only did I get a job, but I also joined a martial arts school and enrolled in college where I plan on studying culinary arts. My 10 year goal is to own my very own soul-food and Mediterranean themed restaurant.
I was accepted into the 2016 Career JumpStart for Florida’s Military Youth program and spent three days learning everything from how to write a resume, cover letter, how to present myself in an interview, and everything in between! At the end of the program, I was awarded an Asus Transformer Tablet and a Microsoft certification.
I would like to thank my dad and step-mother for telling me about CareerSource Escarosa and Myra Howell Gamblin and Nathaniel Johnson for assisting me with the Career JumpStart Program.
I would highly recommend
