Independent Living Specialist at the Center for Independent Living
LaVesta began working with CareerSource Escarosa as a participant of the Welfare Transition Program (WTP). She was struggling to find work due to her lack of reliable transportation and childcare. Her identified long-term employment goal was to become a community leader. Ms. Feagin gained work experience by participating in the Employment & Training Opportunity Program (ETOP) where she was connected with the Center for Independent Living (CIL) Disability Resource Center.
Ms. Feagin was offered a position with the CIL Disability Resource Center. She is a self-motivated individual who has a passion for helping others overcome life’s challenges. Despite her initial barriers, Ms. Feagin was able to overcome many obstacles and she currently looks forward to continuing her education and career with the CIL Disability Resource Center.
