Jennifer

Jennifer sought the help of CareerSource Escarosa in hopes of overcoming some difficult and significant life barriers that her and her two teenage children were facing.

Jennifer’s goal has always been to be good role model for her children. Her first priority was to obtain employment and then to return to school. Jennifer wanted to enter a career in which she could truly become self-sufficient and able to provide for her children as a single parent.

Through participation in the Welfare Transition Program (WTP), Jennifer was referred to one of our WTP work-site partners and after a brief internship; she was offered full time employment. Shortly after, Jennifer returned to school and entered the Mechanical Design and Fabrication Program at Pensacola State College.

As a single parent, employed full-time and attending school full time, Jennifer maintains a 4.0 GPA and is currently on the school’s President’s List. What keeps Jennifer going during these difficult times?

Jennifer says, “It’s been extremely difficult to stay motivated, but I want my kids to look up to me. I want to be a good role model for them.” Jennifer will graduate from college in May of 2015.
